Q: What challenges were you facing before attending the iGlobal event?

Sourcing larger, more institutional-level equity investments has been a challenge. We have a strong retail investor network and are seeking to expand that network to bring on larger equity partners to facilitate our growth trajectory. 

Q: How was your overall experience? What aspects of the event did you find most valuable?

The experience was better than I had expected. It was effectively moderated and more importantly, the quality of both the speakers and attendees was excellent. Hearing from and personally networking with a diverse group that included pension fund managers and family office directors was a highlight.   

Q: What is your key takeaway? Can you share a specific moment or session from the event that particularly resonated with you? Can you provide some detail about how you can relate that to your work? How you will use it in your work?

There is no shortage of capital available if you have a reliable, data-driven approach that can be executed and repeated at scale. One of the speakers shared what they look for in placing significant capital through an emerging manager program. It reiterated the importance of having a clear, measurable plan combined with a sponsor that demonstrates integrity and capability. 

Q: How has attending this event positively impacted your knowledge or professional development? Can you please give some specific examples?

Meeting high-quality attendees has already dramatically expanded my professional network. I have had multiple meetings with pension funds, a family office, and high-net-worth investors that resulted from my attendance at the iGlobal event.

Q: What was the most important outcome of attending the event?

The new relationships built from this event were without a doubt the most important outcome. It also allowed me the opportunity to share details about my own firm with others not as familiar with the self-storage sector. I've received excellent feedback on my firm's strategy through the lens of a fresh, outside perspective. 

I always like to say that the best things in life are people. Driving business and optimizing NOI is great, but it's people and relationships that make us truly rich in life. The iGlobal event was amazing at hosting quality attendees that facilitated valuable connections.
