I was working with a client who had a standout real estate deal. While he had successfully financed many of his previous projects with debt, this time he wanted to explore equity financing. This shift presented a new challenge, so I attended the event to gain insights and explore equity options for his deal.

The most striking part of the experience was the sheer number of private equity investors gathered in one place. Meeting so many investors in a single day was an eye-opener. The panels were also a highlight—they were packed with educational content, giving me a chance to familiarize myself with the speakers before approaching them directly.

Q: What is your key takeaway? Can you share a specific moment or session from the event that particularly resonated with you? Can you provide some detail about how you can relate that to your work? How you will use it in your work?

The breakout sessions stood out to me. While they didn’t directly address my immediate concerns, they opened my eyes to new areas that I hadn’t considered before but am now eager to explore further. It broadened my perspective and sparked new ideas I plan to look into moving forward.

Q: How has attending this event positively impacted your knowledge or professional development? Can you please give some specific examples?

I now have a clearer understanding of how to approach top-tier private equity firms. Learning exactly what these firms are looking for helps me focus my outreach on those that are genuinely interested in deals like mine. It’s a huge time-saver and has made my process more efficient.

Q: What was the most important outcome of attending the event?

I walked away with a wealth of valuable contacts. It would have taken me weeks or even months to connect with the same people on my own. This networking opportunity was by far the most important outcome for me.
